The Blogger Herself

Hello, blogging world! I’m junipar, or you can call me jen(n) or jams. (junipar is a very old nickname; it’s pronounced juny-parrrr, not juniper). I’ve been blogging since before it was called blogging – since 2000, to be exact. The space and words have had many iterations, and this is the latest: a book blog. I love to read, and I love to discuss books. I love encouraging people of all ages to become readers. I in no way claim to be a professional critic or reviewer; my views are solely my own, and they’re pretty subjective. So with that being said, it’s quite likely that you will love a book that I dislike, or vice versa. As long as you’re reading and enjoying it, I’m happy.

I’ve kept a personal book journal for almost ten years now, so some of that will be brought here. However, my main focus will be on my own personal backlist: books I have picked up along the way which I have yet to read. And there are plenty. Which means I am on a book buying fast for this blog. … I’m sorry, I blacked out for a minute. Let me regain my composure. … Okay, so no book buying for a bit. [Deep breaths].

When I’m too busy to read (alas, it happens) or if I haven’t finished anything in awhile, I plan to put up bibliographies. Dystopia for young and old, contemporary gothic fiction, best travel writing, etc. I hope to include some good children’s book lists, too, since so many of my friends are having babies. (Also, children’s lit is rad.)

So welcome to my tiny spot of the internet. Get cozy, and happy reading!
